Artworkz 2016 is a collaboration between Spiral and The Old Ambulance Station who have collaborated to deliver a series of events and workshops during September 2016.
Spiral is a not for profit organisation in the disability sector celebrating our 35th year of providing service to empower potential and equality through growth, innovation and community support. Spiral supports over 130 individuals, their families and carers across the Sunshine Coast.
This Festival will involve local community and schools in a range of creative workshops and performances which will develop skills, create awareness and build connections with the community.
These workshops will be held at The Old Ambulance Station Gallery and Black Box Theatre and include School Still Life Art workshops, Henna workshops, Drama and Dance performances and workshops, Garden to Plate workshops, Loud and Clear Introduction workshops and complimentary hand treatments.

|5 Sept||11.30am - 12.15pm||Old Ambulance Station’s Black Box Theatre, Howard St, Nambour||“Murder by Nuggets, it’s a ripper”||The tittle says it all; there will be romance, loyalty, treachery, hope, deception, humour, food, dance and... an unsolved murder. Our sassy detective, Dusty will take you on a journey in a gold mining town nearby and you will definitely meet some interesting characters. You might want to wear your dancing shoes too… just in case.||Donation appreciated.|

|Come down and participate in a combined warm up and choreography session that covers a range of different dance forms and skills. This workshop is broken down in to a number of sessions which covers Verba, an inclusive dance form of Zumba and then moves through the umbrella of choreography which covers a number of different dance forms. This is an all abilities workshop which allows for diversity and community connections.||Free|

Builds confidence and teaches the necessary social skills needed to connect and interact with people in the community. These social skills enable people to be seen and heard.||Free|
|7 Sept||9am - 12.30pm||Old Ambulance Station Gallery, Howard St, Nambour||Henna Workshop||This workshop will explore the imbalance of Henna tattoos, through deconstructing a design and the practice of reconstruction of the design using Henna ink. Each participant will receive a Henna Pack that includes: Henna Ink templates.||$5|

Art!||This is a collaboration with Dance, Drama and Art facilitators and a range of art forms can be learnt and tried. These workshops will be showcasing and learning skills with the performing and visual artists that regularly attend these workshops weekly.
