Kicking off on Howard Street at 4pm sharp is the Horizon festival Colour the Street. A free community celebration highlighting the iconic cane tram tracks of Howard Street in an urban bloc party; featuring 3D chalk art by local artist Brian Tisdal and visiting national 3D pavement specialists.
The line up includes live music, dance, hula hoop workshops and childrens playshops, Indigenous performers, slam poetry, spoken word, street theatre, dance, projections, circus playground, children's chalk art, cane train lantern, roving Steam Punk performers, lantern parade and a laser light show and a fire spectacular.
The Old Ambulance station will showcase a visual arts exhibition and a performance space with local artists. Bringing to life the poetic retelling of these much loved stories in the Black Box starting at 8.30pm Alice Dorothy & Wendy is a theatrical, cinematic and musical adaptation of Sunshine Coast local Nycole Prowse’s award winning poetry by coast musical composer Mark Ferris, winner of the 2013 Pacific Opera Vocal Writing Prize and filmmakers Drift Pictures.
Check out The Pod Lounge and the Art of Storytelling, with a line up of slam, words, art, music by local songstress Andrea Kirwin.
The Tramway Bar is available and delicious food stalls. Frock up and join the Namour bloc party celebration.
Parking - the carpark on the corner of Howard Street and Sydney Road will be in full swing with The Pod Lounge and the Art of Storytelling. Street parking is available and addtional bus transportation arranged - 610 bus service for 8.30pm and 9.00pm.
