Dangerous Song presents 6 FREE headphone concerts in Mary Cairncross Park. There is a limit of 14 people per concert. Each audience member will wear headphones which deliver high quality stereo sound.
The music combines human voice with the sounds of endangered and extinct animals. Linsey Pollak uses breath, lip pressure and fingering to play real animal calls while Lizzie O'Keefe weaves her voice in and out of this musical landscape of animal sounds.
The 30 minute performances evoke an emotional connection and response to the sometimes “hard to swallow” facts about the current Sixth Extinction Crisis, inspiring understanding, love and hopefully action. It’s a song for the planet - an inter-species choral work, and they’re singing for their lives! If their calls don’t affect you then nothing will.
Ticket holders need to arrive at the Mary Cairncross Reserve Discovery Centre 30 minutes before the performance time and will be met by a centre volunteer at the reception desk and then taken to the specific site.
Note: Latecomers will miss out!
