Maroochy Gunyah is an immersive cultural and multi-media arts experience. Presented inside a contemporary Gunyah art installation, the experience comprises story, dance, music, song and ritual to tell the local Dreamtime stories specific to the Maroochy and surrounds.
The Indigenous installation is open from 5pm to 8pm Sunday 27 August at Chambers Island Maroochydore.
This project has real and special significance for Gubbi Gubbi songman Lyndon Davis, due to 2017 being the 100th year since Lyndon's grandmother ('Nana Chilly') was removed from the Maroochy River. Lyndon would like to have a special opportunity such as this to honour and remember a very special woman of the Maroochy Dreaming, Susan Chilly.
