In partnership with the Queensland Poetry Festival and Horizon Festival, Words Collide presents a riveting series of events featuring stories and writing in ways that you have never heard them before.
From lauded slam champions to rappers turned novelists, talkers of Country to the Arts Queensland Poet in Residence, Words Collide presents both performances and workshops in a program set to invigorate and inspire wordsmiths of the Sunshine Coast.
Slam and Busk in the Bunker is a cross-medial storytelling event, presented by Peripheral Arts. The event will capture local stories of place through spoken word, slam workshops and a competition evening that engages a diverse array of artistic mediums including music, art and storytelling performance.
Interested locals will have the opportunity to share their stories and poetry in Story Slam in conjunction with the finals of the Busk Off competition. There are cash prizes for first, second and third place slam winners as well as the chance to participate in writing workshops and spoken word events later in the year.
Live art, storytelling by Jandamarra Cadd, and poetry by Dominic Hoey will also be part of the event.
This free event is part of Art St Eumundi, held at The Bunker stage on Saturday 26 August.
