Mr Murata is a Watercolour Master - from Japan and also an innovator of Pastels - he has created his own range of pastels in collaboration with a Japanese Cosmetic Company, which workshop participants will have an opportunity to use.
Mr Murata layers his pastels with watercolour to bring new dimension and depth of finish to his works on paper. Explore this week of his Residency at the Yaroomba Design Centre – Qld Australia. He will be working over the 10 days of his Art Residency each afternoon from 1 to 4pm in the Yaroomba Design Centre - Open to the Public.
People will be welcome to come and watch him in progress these afternoons - commencing 25 August to 1 September 2017.

Fish Lane Studios are hosting a free open Forum for local Sunshine Coast Artists to come and hear Mr Murata talk about his experience as an International Artist. He will be discuss pros and cons, pitfalls of shipping Exhibition Work through many different countries and customs , curating the work and how to ensure payment for sales. This forum will be held on Saturday 2 September - from 1pm to 3pm at the Yaroomba Design Centre. This will be a fantastic opportunity for local Sunny Coast Artists to learn and perhaps grow their own Studio/Exhibition Businesses and form relationships with this internationally experienced Artist.
The Workshop includes morning, afternoon teas and lunch catered for – with ample tea and coffee available as well. Participants must bring their own paints/pastels, mediums and brushes. Two full sheets of heavy cotton rag watercolour paper will be supplied, and there will be more available to purchase if you would like to try another piece.
Mr Murata’s ‘Jesus’ Pastels will be available to try – and buy if you fall in love with them as a medium!
