Horizon is inviting artists to register their interest to present work as part of Art on Another Level, the opening event for the Horizon Festival in 2018.
This year, we intend to kick-off Horizon with a weekend-long appropriation of the Caloundra Transit Centre, presenting a multi-arts, multi-level reflection of the 2018 Horizon Festival and arts across the region.
The broad concept is to deliver an experiential event that allows the public to make their way through the proposed location of the Transit Centre, taking in several levels of diverse artworks including visual art, performance, installation, music, murals, sculpture, immersive technology and more. The experience will culminate on the rooftop, where visitors will take in sweeping views and visit a significant ARTtraction.
The Art on Another Level activation would be in place for three days from Friday 24 Aug to Sunday 26 Aug.
Through Art on Another Level, participating artists will consider the dialogue between art and place, in particular the urban landscape of Caloundra's Transit Centre.
Those who register will be invited to a briefing session (date and time to be confirmed) where we will share Horizon's vision for Art on Another Level and brief artists on the proposed site-specific considerations.
We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to register.
Registrations close 28 February 2018.
