Us And All Of This
Seeking up to 100 local dancers, movers, and curious humans to create a once-in-a-lifetime event
Us And All Of This is a mesmerising performance that invites up to 100 participants to move together in an act of radical slowness, offering a rare moment of calm reflection. Horizon is seeking people who love to move, of various ages, ethnicities, genders, body types and abilities, to form a meditative and sculptural, en-masse community dance work — performed in public space.
As a volunteer, you will take part in five gentle, yet rejuvenating dance workshop-style rehearsals led by Liesel Zink and local artists — Bella Hood, Zartisha Davis and Estefania (Nia) Nurit. Here you will learn a range of choreographic and improvisational scores that lead to the final performance. The ultimate outcome will be a collaborative, community-driven project, spanning roughly 45 minutes, performed in a public outdoor space.
Prior dance experience is not essential as the work is designed to be accessible for beginners, you only need to be dance curious!
You won’t need to remember all the choreography. The movements which you’ll become familiar with during rehearsals, are fed to you through an In Ear Monitor (IEM). It’s like a guided meditation – so you can simply enjoy the experience.
Please note performers must be aged 15+
What's involved + key dates
Rehearsals will be at: CWA Hall in Nambour, 10 Short Street, Nambour QLD
Performances will take place at: Buhk Park, Alex Headlands as part of Horizon Festival
You will be working with award-winning choreographer and creator, Liesel Zink and moving to music by renowned sound artist and composer, Lawrence English.
Us And All Of This is not only a performance but a process; an exercise in the gentle act of shared creation, exploring togetherness and community as the antithesis of exploitation.

Workshop Schedule:
Workshops run for five weeks through March and April, with a break over Easter.
- Group 1: Saturdays, March 22 - April 26, 9:30am - 12:30pm
- Group 2: Saturdays, March 22 - April 26, 1:30pm - 4:30pm
- Group 3: Sundays, March 23 - April 27, 9:30am - 12:30pm
Rehearsal and Performance Dates:
These will be at Alexandra Headlands (times confirmed closer to dates)
- Technical Rehearsal: Saturday May 3
- Dress Rehearsal: Saturday May 10
- Two performances will be held on: May 11 at 2pm and 4pm
