Hold Me Closer Tony Danza  is bold, brash, and non-conforming dance-theatre work that – just like a pop song that you can’t get out of your head – is also deeply seductive.

Reflecting a modern minefield of potential misrepresentations, ‘Tony’ confronts our awkward reality of responsibility through a choreography of discomfort, lack of coordination, inappropriate dynamics, and Elton John.

The work asks the audience to pick a side, show their true colours, and get ready to dance-off as if their lives depend on it. In a world driven by information overload, Hold Me Closer Tony Danza  asks how we can still connect with each other when we feel so far apart.

This is a work about misunderstanding, and embracing it – it’s a realisation that perhaps our understanding of the world is intrinsically flawed.

Join us from 6:00pm for a drink and live DJ before the 7:00pm shows.

“The starting point was a misunderstood Elton John lyric played to great comedic effect. This tension between 'rightness' or 'wrongness' framed a deeper, pop-cultural exploration of differences in opinion through club dancing and seamless partnering.”
— Rhys Ryan, Limelight review
