Queer PowerPoint
Be in a show! Looking for three local voices to share a passion, wild theory, late-night story, or pop culture hot take with an audience.
An evening of corporate presentations and personal optimisation – but queer.
Queer PowerPoint has taken Australia (and Taiwan) by storm, and now it’s coming to the Sunshine Coast as part of Horizon 2025. Horizon is looking for three local voices to share their favourite obsession, crackpot theory, late-night anecdote, or pop culture hot take with an audience.
The only rule: Your idea must be presented in a 12-minute talk using Microsoft PowerPoint.
Created by Xanthe Dobbie, Harriet Gillies, and Thom Smyth, and produced by Unfunded Empathy, Queer PowerPoint provides a fee and creative support to help you shape your idea. No prior performance or PowerPoint experience is required.
Now in its fifth year, Queer PowerPoint is a fun, inclusive event where big ideas meet unlikely presentations.
The show has appeared at venues like the Princess Theatre, Sydney Opera House, Federation Square, WA Museum, Marrickville Library, and even nightclubs in Taipei.
